VTG Turquoise and Sterling Silver Insect Pin, H. Ration. It includes blue turquoise, white buffalo turquoise, and highly detailed silver chase work.
This pin is by renowned and famous artist Herbert Ration. The insects which he creates are highly collectible & desirable. There is a very small crack in the turquoise, as shown in the photos. This does not reduce the value that greatly as the stones are considered replaceable- and the turquoise is currently stable. The pin is already priced at a lower price than others on the market as a reflection of that crack.
Born on April 23rd 1959, Herbert Ration was born & raised in Crownpoint, which is between Albuquerque & Gallup NM & right in the heart of the Navajo reservation. Herbert still calls this his home & like others on the rez, he had a traditional Navajo upbringing & has always been surrounded by jewelry artists.
