This listing is for a piece of stunning hand batik material. I absolutely love the boldness of both the color and the pattern of this fabric. If you look more closely, however, you'll find a slight jacquard pattern in the weave. It just adds an unexpected lovely detail. The material appears to be cotton or cotton blend. Due to the batik process it has that new fabric crispness/stiffness to it. I am undecided abut the origin of this material. The boldness of the pattern would suggest that it might be African, however, the fine woven pattern makes me rethink this and consider that it might come from Southeast Asia.. The material measures 48 x 132". It is in great vintage condition.
