Vintage buttermilk silk hand embroidered midi slip dress circa 1940s

Featuring delicate embroidered bodice, all over bias cut and scalloped hem, all hand done work precisely and elegantly. Midi length giving it a more versatile use, as night slip, or undergarment, or even wearing out with jeans, leather jacket, however you’d love to match, this dress magically works with every thing I can imagine, from day to night. Marked as size 38, fitting a modern size xs/s the best and possibly a M. The bias cut gives it a more flexible and flattering fitting. Chest 37” max, length adjustable 46.5” max (40 excluding the straps), waistline stretches to 33” max Excellent condition, this may be an old stock and possibly never used, strong glossy silk satin, however had a few very minor things to note (which I’ve found so far) - a few yellow spots on embroidery, 1 pin hole on upper skirt, 1 small faint yellow spot and 1 pin tip sized black spot on skirt. The blue pen mark drawing out the scallop hem is still visible from the wrong side but not visible when worn and shouldn’t be considered as a flaw. All of these are barely noticeable, if you can’t tell from the pictures, then you probably won’t see it unless check carefully, and certainly can’t really be seen when worn. Label says pure silk but obviously someone has done a burn test around the tag (which then further confirms the material). Made in China, brand is Peony
