This is a stunning vintage 1940s wooden sick call set crucifix, featuring a detailed INRI metal corpus, mother-of-pearl style inlay, and two unused candles, a vial for holy water, and instructions for the priest, stored inside the cross. This set is designed to open, revealing the interior compartment where the candle and holy items are traditionally kept for home visits by clergy. This piece was well cared for, with the original candles, instructions, and vial still in original plastic. The craftsmanship is impressive – rich stained wood, scalloped carved edges, and ornate inlay work.
