English silver-plated tea strainer with a drip bowl, also known as an over-cup tea strainer.
It is a vintage or antique item, with similar pieces dating back to the 1920s and 1940s.
• Function: Used to strain loose tea leaves from a teapot as it is poured into a teacup. The drip bowl, or nest, is designed to catch any excess liquid after straining. Can be used for loose tea leaves as well as rest for tea bags. It has one small spot on drip portion not sure if it can buff out. But it doesn’t affect function. Great gift for tea drinkers!
