First book club edition (Junior Literary Guild book club) hardcover copy of Rocket Jockey by Lester Del Rey, writing under the name Philip St. John (The John C. Winston Company, 1952). Rare antique young adult science fiction novel by one of the titans of science fiction and fantasy. A well preserved copy for its age.

Jacket is now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with moderate rubbing/scuffing to faces and wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and tears. Boards curved and with corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine remains fairly straight. Tanning pages that otherwise clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
