“About The Artist...
A native of New York City, Bob Rivera attended the High School of Music and Art and the Cooper Union. He received his M.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Rivera has a long involvement with public art, and founded the Graffiti Alternatives Workshop in Philadelphia. He has created numerous site specific sculptures and installations in both Pennsylvania and New York. In recent years, Rivera's work has been seen at El Museo del Barrio, The Studio Museum in Harlem, NYNEX Corporation, Tyringham Gallery, and at Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. He is currently completing a monumental wall sculpture for Hostos Community College in the Bronx. His public art commissions include the Bronx Council on the ArtsHunts Point Sculpture Garden, Artists in the GardenOperation Greenthumb, and the Friends Central School in Philadelphia.
