Stylish Mr. John Classics fedora from around the 1960's or 70's. Camel wool felt with a faux snake skin band/bow in brown and beige. No fabric content or size tag. The union label attached was used from 1934 up to 1983. Very clean but has several small spots of surface damage. Most are under the brim. Not noticeable in my opinion. It measures 21 1/8" around the inside band. Slight misshape brim. It has a wire around the edge so can be reshaped. Smoke free home. I ship same or next business day. John Harberger, also known as John P. John (1906-1993), or Mr. John was one of the foremost milliners of the 20th century. He began by working for his mother, Mme. Laurel, in 1926. In 1929 he formed a partnership with milliner Frederic Hirst and the resulting company was called John-Frederics. The team also designed hats for the movies, with probably the most famous designs being those made for Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind.
