This sculptural chamotte vase was designed by Gunnar Nylund (1904–1997) for Rörstrand. Executed in glazed ceramics with a warm light ochre glaze, the surface and form perfectly capture the restrained elegance of Scandinavian modernism. Nylund, Danish-born, worked across both Denmark and Sweden, becoming one of the leading figures in 20th-century Scandinavian design. After training at Bing & Grøndahl and co-founding the Saxbo Studio with Natalie Krebs in 1929, he joined Rörstrand in 1932. As artistic director through the mid-century decades, he helped cement Rörstrand’s reputation alongside Gustavsberg as a powerhouse of Swedish ceramics. ✨ Measurements: 25 × 14 cm Condition: Excellent Stamped to base. Flowers not included, decoration only. A fine and weighty example of Nylund’s iconic ceramic work, sought after by collectors worldwide.
