Cast Iron Bottle Opener (Vintage)
Patterned as a woman, with 4 eyes & buck teeth. Definitely NOT politically correct nowadays.
This vintage cast iron bottle opener, is often referred to as a "four-eyed lady" or "double-eyed lady" or "miss four eyes" bottle opener, designed to be mounted on a wall. Holes in the "ears" (in this case, disguised as "earrings") allow for screwing it onto a wall or other surface.
Design: A face with four eyes & a wide-open mouth with buck teeth (which are used to open the bottles).
Signage / Stamp: In raised relief, all capital letters "WILTON PROD." on the upper, interior of the bottle opener.
Of significance: This bottle opener was the inspiration for the British Rock Group Pink Floyd's 1971 U.S. cover of their compilation album "Relics".
$65.00 (My Discounted Price / Pre-Owned)
Origin / Era: Popular in the 1930's & 1940's, with reproductions made in later years.
Collectibility: Yes, very collectible. Still has over 80% of the original hand paint.
