A classic and highly regarded 19th-century European travel guide, renowned for its meticulous research and detailed cartography. A well-preserved example for its age, with expected wear but no major losses. One additional loose map is inserted at the front.

Includes 47 original folding maps, 10 plans, and 7 panoramas, covering the Bavarian Highlands, Tyrol, Salzburg, Upper and Lower Austria, Styria, Carinthia, and Carniola.

Good condition for a volume over 126 years old. Red leather-bound boards with gold gilt lettering; marbled page edges. Some folding maps show small splits along original folds, typical of age. Front hinge shows exposed reinforcement; binding remains sound.
