1950s Australian Khaki Cotton Dress Size, UK Sz 8 Matching Pendant

This 1950s vintage khaki cotton novelty dress is by Reid & Keid a Vintage Australian Clothing manufacturer. This is a lovely example of mid-century fashion. Made from 100% cotton, this UK size 8 tea dress features a waist size of 22 inches, 34 inch bust and 29inch skirt. The fabric is earth based colours of khaki beige, brown, olive green and black. The print depicts cartoon type animals from the Australian outback The neck line is scooped both front and back. There are tiny gold buttons that fasten the front of the dress to the waist. These have a slight tarnish with them but this adds to the vintage charm. The fitted bodice has a gathered attached skirt comprising of tiny pleats. There is the original metal zip set into the side bodice and skirt. The sleeves are short. For photographic purposes l used a full 50s petticoat under the dress. This is not included in the price. However, what is included In the price is a matching pendant. This was hand crafted in my jewellery workshop. The substantial heart shaped pendant has a decoupage covering using Australian newspaper from the 1800s. All of this is topped off with metal findings, khaki and silver alloy beads in addition to decoupage beads. The pendant complements the dress perfectly. Reid & Keid no longer exist and as such this is a rare find.
