Offered for sale is a lot of 5 vintage Japanese baseball menko cards from the JRM 7: 1949 Kagome “Seals Visit” set. These classic round menko measure approximately 1 15/16 inches in diameter and commemorate the historic visit of the San Francisco Seals to Japan in 1949.
Players included in this lot:

• Kaoru Betto – Hall of Famer
• Noboru Aota – Hall of Famer
• Jiro Noguchi – Hall of Famer
• Torao Ooka
An uncommon and desirable feature of this set is that the cards have printed backs, which is not typical for many early round menko. The reverses are printed in blue ink and include a six-digit menko fighting number near the bottom, used during gameplay. The Kagome six-pointed star logo appears at the upper right of the back, confirming the manufacturer and set.
The Kagome Seals Visit issue is a key early postwar menko set, valued for its international baseball significance and limited production.
